Bug Registry Online Help: System Requirements, Installing and Uninstalling Bug Registry

Next Topic

System requirements
Bug Registry requires Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 2003.

If you are using MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle as Bug Registry database server you will need your database server to be installed and configured before you can use Bug Registry. You must also have your database client software installed on each computer that uses Bug Registry software. If you are using Microsoft Access as Bug Registry database engine you can start using Bug Registry immediately without installing any client software.

Installing Bug Registry
To install Bug Registry, run BugRegSetup.msi. The Setup program will issue a number of prompts. Unless you have a reason to override the defaults it is strongly recommended that you accept the installation default settings (just press OK, Yes, or Next, as appropriate).

Uninstalling Bug Registry
If you wish to uninstall Bug Registry you must do the following:
1. Activate the Control Panel.
2. Choose Add/Remove Programs.
3. Choose Bug Registry in the list box and press Remove button.

Technical details.
The uninstall procedure performs the following steps:
1. Verify that it is safe to uninstall.
2. Delete files in Bug Registry folder.
3. Remove the Bug Registry icons and Start menu entries.
4. Remove the Bug Registry entries from the windows registry.
Uninstall procedure DOES NOT remove Bug Registry database from server (if you are using MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle). You must do it manually using administrative tools shipped with database server.
